Along with Bao Dai Palace, Dinh Lac Pagoda, House exiled Buon Ma Thuot, Khai Doan Pagoda is an attractive destination for tourists as well as the reputable historical and cultural relic of Daklak, Buon Me Thuot City. This is the temple of Vietnam living in Dak Lak built in 1951-1953 on a large expanse of the land at 89A Phan Boi Chau Street, Thong Nhat Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City. Located in the center of Buon Me Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, the name Khai Doan derives from the King Khai Dinh and his wife, Doan Huy Hoang queen, has already conquered the curiosity of many tourists about its historical value and special architecture associated with the development of the Dak Lak through the war.

Khai Doan pagoda is the last pagoda in Vietnam bringing many French architectures from the war that still have reserved for many years. The pagoda has an architecture in the style of the “Tam” architecture, in front of the gate is the “Tam”, the middle is the main hall, the last is the worship house. The gate consists of two floors with three arches, having 7 m in height, and 10.5 m in width. Especially, the Khai Doan pagoda highlighted itself with the appearances of many dragons being surrounded by white clouds engraved in six columns right at the many hall, creating the unique magical beauty of the pagoda.

The main hall consists of two parts, in which the front part brings the special architecture of the long house style of the Central Highlands Vietnam, with many columns. The second hall is built in the modern way, with the bronze status of Buddha weighed 380 kg from 1954 marked the long history of the area development. The pagoda was built by the skillful hands of the Hue imperialists so the architecture of the Hue ridge was interwoven with the local architecture. Khai Doan pagoda is the place where many political events happened in the revolutionary movement of the people in the province and still preserved many historical relics until now.
