There are two ways for you to choose if you want to travel from Cambodia to Laos. You can go by plane or by bus. In this article, we will give you some information to select the most suitable transportation mode.

1. By plane:

If you are not interested in the price, then the easiest and the most convenient way to travel from Cambodia to Laos is by plane.
From Phnom Penh to Vientiane, there are daily flights of Lao Airlines and Vietnam Airlines.
The flight price is about US$190 for one-way ticket and it will take you about 1 hours and 30 minutes to get in Laos.
From Siem Reap to Pakse, the ticket fee is nearly US$150 for one-way ticket. The flight time is roughly 1 hour.
From Siem Reap to Luang Prabang, you have to pay about US$190 for one-way ticket, the flight time is nearly 1.5 hours.

2. By bus:

from cambodia to laos

Going by bus is much cheaper than travelling by plane. Nevertheless, the travel time is longer. This route is cheap, but it will take your time. Travelling by bus may be suitable for independent travelers and backpackers.
Operated by the two countries, there is a bus company offering daily bus trips from Kompong Cham, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Stung Treng and Katrie to Vientiane and Pakse, Laos.
From Phnom Penh to Pakse, the duration ranges from 12 to 13 hours. However, from Siem Reap to Pakse, it will take 1 hour or 2 hours longer. If you want to go to Vientiane, you have to spend another 10 hours. Furthermore, you have to transfer your bus in Pakse.
The ticket fee for one-way ticket is about USD $27 (from Phnom Penh to Pakse) USD $58 (from Siem Reap to Vientiane); USD $50 (from Phnom Penh to Vientiane); and from Siem Reap to Pakse, the price is USD $35. From Kompong Cham, Katrie, and Stung Treng to Pakse a one-way ticket costs USD $20,USD $18, and USD $15 respectively.
The border of southern Laos and Cambodia is Stung Treng. From Phnom Penh to Strung Treng, there are daily buses. The duration is roughly 6 hours.
Additionally, there are minibuses running from Stung Treng to the border at Dom Kralor. It will take you nearly two hours.
On the Lao side, from Voen Kham, there are mini buses and other transportation types to Ban Nakasang and there is a boat to Don Det. For this border crossing, you should gain your available Lao and Cambodia visas. It will be better for you to be at the border from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm.
