To go to Bao An farm, tourists have to cross the road about 20 km from the center of Da Lat city, through Ta Nung pass and then running into provincial road No.725. First coming to the farm, tourists can be surprised with the plentiful aroma of coffee from every corners in the farm. The farm has a total of 30 ratels, Type of coffee for ratels must meet certain standards to ensure quality from the beginning. For the berry fruit that previous bats or birds have eaten, the percentage chosen is higher, about 70% to 80%. Therefore, right from the planting stage, gardeners must ensure clean coffee and fruit in good condition.
Evening is the good time for them to eat coffee. In the next morning, the stools will be collected and exposed for 3 days so that enzymes as well as musk fragrances can slowly penetrate into the coffee. When a certain amount of natural dryness is achieved, ratel feces are exposed in the sun to dry. As a result, coffee beans can be stored for several years while retaining special flavor. The process for feeding them and harvesting the same as above takes place in 2-3 days. After that, their diets will return to normal with insects and other sweet fruits.
